my day on Friday

My day started by waking up at 6, so that i could get ready for our district music contest in Norfolk. Then when we got to the place we got in our band uniform and then went to a room to warm up. After we were done warming up we played two songs, and then we went back to the gym to get out of our uniforms. after that i got something to eat, then went to a little theater to watch the percussion, Chelsea, and the trumpet trio small groups. Then I went back to the gym and we had to load up so that we could head back home and we came back at 10:30 and I went to Algebra 2 and toke some notes and read the rest of the period and came to Speech class and that's it pretty boring.

the good and bad of my entertainment

Three things that I thought was good about my speech was, I got a couple of laughs. I had four visual aids. And finally I made time.
Three things I could improve on, however, is make it more funny. Remember the colorful language. And finally try to sound like some of the puppets.

From the business post not many people read the whole thing they mainly just skim over it and don't know exactly what the y read.

how technology has impacted my life

Today we are supposed to say how technology has impacted my life. Technology has impacted me because without it I would be really bored at home. When I get home the most that I normally do is do my homework and then either on the weekends play video games or watch t.v. everyday. When I am not watching t.v. I am eating or also reading. I also play video games or watch t.v. because I get bored of doing nothing all day, I even get bored when I am reading so I just sit around at home or doing something else.

my favorite baseball team

Today we are supposed to write what our favorite baseball team is and look up their schedule. I am not that much into baseball however my favorite team would probably be the Kansas Royals. If you go to this website about the Kansas City Royals schedule and on the left side click February 2009 you will see their schedule for this month about when they play and where they will play at.

Today is President's Day and so it is after Abe Lincoln's birthday and from the website http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032619
it talks about celebrating Lincoln's birthday and it says that 65 historians ranked Abraham Lincoln as the best U.S. president.
I think that that is true because he helped make this place better, he helped African Americans be free.

A problem that we have in life and how we plan to resolve it

Today we are supposed to talk about a problem we have in life and how we can solve it. My problem is anger, I have a lot of trouble controlling it and being happier. Every time I look at my youngest sister it reminds me of all of the bad times that we had, and then not only do I get mad but we start arguing.
I have tired many things to calm myself down and some have worked for a while, but what I find the easiest way to calm down is to start playing a song in my head or start thinking of lines from a movie in my head and almost every time I do that stuff it helps me think about something else and then a get happy. Another way I will do is take a deep breath and just relax, not only does that help me be happier but I use it when I get mad in golf.

what I am doing on Valentine's day

Today my friend Logan and I had to come up with the topic. We came up with a topic of what we are doing on Valentine's Day. Well for me I do not have a girlfriend so on Friday I will probably stay up late and when I wake up do whatever until I would have to go to work at 1. When I get home I will eat supper and then take a shower and probably spend the rest of the day doing homework until it is done or watch t.v./play the wii. That is probably all that I am going to do on Saturday.

if I was a food and why

For the next day of the 30 day challenge the topic is what food we would be and why. First of all I would probably be a pizza. The reason for that is because pizza is my favorite food, and it would be interesting to see myself as a pizza.

If you were a superhero...

If I was a superhero I would like to have super speed and super strength and also be able to fly. Maybe even be immortal and also be smart. I would also like to use lightning and make clones and be able to block anything. I would be like Hancock and use my powers for good and cause a lot of damage, sometimes I would even use my powers to do whatever I wanted since I can not be stopped.
I probably would not worry about hiding at my house or wearing a costume or also wear a mask. I would not have to because I can defend myself and stop whoever tried to hurt me or my family.
I also can destroy anything in my path with some lightning and also capture anyone fast with some speed and clones.

Choices I made over the weekend

I decided to go to pep band half an hour before work got done. I did it so that I could hang out with my friends and so I may be able to letter in band. It was a bad thing probably because there was only one person to work and if there was a lot of people there then he would have a long time to get done and he would want to leave but he can't.

I decided to watch the Dark Knight with my dad, because I love the movie and because I wanted to watch it with him. It was bad because I could have done some other things and t.v. is bad for you.

I read a lot in my book because it is a good book, and because I had nothing else to do. I don't know why it would be a bad thing to read a lot, except for the fact that I could have gotten other things done.

I played the Wii because I was bored and I wanted to play it. I probably should not have played it because I watch a lot of t.v. and because it is bad for me.

I had some ice cream at the basketball game because I was hungry and they were out of popcorn.

I went to sleep some time after midnight on Saturday because I was reading my book and I didn't feel tired.

On Friday I went to bed at about midnight because I didn't feel tired and I also did not have to get up at 5 for work.

my digital history project

My digital topic is about William Peterson, I will say when he was born, and what he did. I will also tell what he plans to do in the future and what he is doing now. The only thing right now that I know about him is that he played on my favorite song and as one of my favorite characters. He played Gil Grissom from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He is still one of the directors, he is just done playing Grissom.

A night on the town:

This is for my night.
If I went out to town I would go take a shower, put on deodorant, put on a nice shirt some black dress pants and then I would head out. I would go to a movie and then I would go out to eat. After that I would go home and probably either go to bed or watch t.v.

This is if I was Peter Griffin.
If I was Peter Griffin I would dress in a white shirt and green pants. Then I would go to the bar with either Lois or Cleavland, Joe, and Quagmire and we would stay there most of the night and probably get drunk and then go home, and go to sleep.

This is if I was a girl.
I would take a shower, put on make-up, get on a nice dress, make my hair nice. Then I would go out with my friends, maybe to a movie or out to eat or also driving around. After I got home I would go to bed.

This is for if I was a teen from the 50's.
I would take a shower, get all nice and neat, and then head out. I would get into my car and go to the movies or the a shake shop. Then I would head home at midnight and go to bed.

This is for if I was a fish.
I would swim from my sea house and I would swim to my friends and then we would go to a shark and get swallowed, then someone would find the shark and end up eating him too.

And finally this is if I was a caveman.
I would grab my spear and walk out of the cave. Then I would go and meet whoever and we would walk around or run into a dinosaur and we would try and kill it. Then we would take it home and eat it. after that we would probably see a T-Rex and run away and end up getting eaten by it.

how I am doing at my goals

My goals is to pass all of my school classes and to not be in encore for Algebra 2 and world history. So far I am making my school goals but I am close to being in encore for world history. My long term goals is to be nicer to my sister and letting my mom know where I am going. It is going okay for being nicer to my sister and for letting my mom know where I am going I am telling her everything that I am doing.

how I did on my speech

I think that I did okay on my speech I know that it could have been better and I could have gone slower. I think however that for the memorizing part I knew most of it and only forgot a couple of things. Also a way for me to improve on my speech is to just relax, think and talk like I am in front of my friends and to try to not be so nervous on my speech later on in the future.

how I will memorize my speech

Today we have to say how we are going to memorize our speech. For me it will be easy to memorize my speech, the only hard part will be to keep going over and over it, and also trying to remember the definitions for my first paragraph. In order for me to prepare myself I will ask my parents if I can do my speech in front of them so that I can get used to not being so nervous. Then I will have my laptop with me and probably have it open in case I forget something, and that is the only time I will use it. After I present it to them I will ask them what I need to improve on. And if they tell me I will try to improve on it, and if they do not have anything for me to improve on I will go over it a couple of more times.

what my thoughts are about speech class

This is the sixteenth day of the thirty day challenge. I am supposed to say what is my thoughts on speech class is. Overall I like speech class. I also like watching a bunch of speeches at a speech meet. What I don not like however is typing on the internet every day for this thirty day challenge. The main reason I guess that I am in this class is because I did not want to drop band for a different class and I thought that this class would be fun, so that is why I chose this class. Another reason is that I wanted to not be as nervous when it comes to reading speeches so I wanted to improve my nervousness and that is why I am also in this class. I like the classes to some days they are fun and some days they are not, but I guess the main reason I do not like this class is that I hate the fact that I have to wait until the third lunch bell to go to lunch and so I am usually so hungry that I can't concentrate in class.

my favorite sport and why

Once again I am writing for the 30 day challenge. Today we (the class) have to write what are favorite sport is and why or why we do not have a favorite sport. I used to have a favorite sport. It was football, but I am tired of this town thinking of nothing but football. I will still go to the games, mainly to play pep band, otherwise I will go home when we are done and watch t.v. or something. Also if my dad gets tickets and it is my turn to go I will go to a Nebraska Huskers football game with him. Sometimes I will watch Nebraska and other games on t.v. but for the most part I will do something else. I love when I get to go to football games with my dad, because sometimes he will make homemade jerky and we will bring some with us to the game. We will also buy a couple of sandwiches and chips and go park at a park and eat lunch there right before a game. The main reason though on why I like to go is the fact that it is just the two of us and we can spend some time together while my sisters and my mom go shopping.

my thoughts on the schools computer

Well this is another day of the 30 day challenge. We are supposed to write what we think about the school laptops. There are times that I want to destroy this computer because it is either slow on some days or it is ticking me off by doing something wrong. But then again there are also days were I like having a laptop, and those days are when we meaning my class and I have to write essays for English or write speeches for speech and it is nice to not have to go back and forth with a jump drive to save things on it and take it home and if you have a computer work on it there. Plus I have three sisters in my family and two of them are in my same grade, so therefore if I have to use the computer then my sisters will have to use it to, so this way is easier because we are not fighting over who gets to use the computer. Plus there are also some kids who don't have a computer at home so that is also nice to have school laptops, but overall I think they are a waste of money, mainly because there are many junior high kids that every morning they play games on their computer or at home they will go on sites they are not supposed to go on, but they are also nice to have as I have said because of essays.

if I had one wish what would it be

If I had one wish there would be many things that I would use it for. For starters I would make the world a better place to live by keeping the gas prices down, having no more wars with any country, and get enough supply of oil to keep the prices down. I might also make it so that I can get anything that I want, or maybe everything that I need. I could also wish for ten million dollars so that I and most of my family members could be rich. I might also wish for world peace and that no one would ever have to go to war again.

my favorite book and why

I am back for another day on the 30 day challenge. On this day I got to chose the topic and my topic is our favorite book and why. My favorite book is Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. This is my favorite book because it is about dragons, elves, humans, urgals, and many more. It is also about fantasy and adventure. The story is about a boy who finds a stone in the woods and it breaks open and a dragon pops out. The empire finds out about it and sends a group of Ra'zac after him, he leaves town with his dragon and a storyteller, then later he joins the Varden or people trying to stop the empire and there is a war. In the next book he goes to the elves and his cousin brings the town to the varden. After that the boy fights his brother and his dragon and they lose. In this book they fight their bither again and win and they defeat the Ra'zac, and goes back to the elves. That's about where I am in my book.

school lunches

Well this is a new day and for this day we have to write on our opinion on school lunches. Whenever I am listening to the radio when I come to school there are days that I hear them talking about school lunches for the top 5. As I am listening to it they say some interesting lunches and it makes me wonder why we can't get some of that food. Instead we have the same items every month. Don't get me wrong I like the school lunches but its the fact that we don't ever get enough lunch choices and food on certain days. Like on taco days or any days with burritos we have two salad bars to put on our taco instead of meat and cheese and some other stuff like extras too.

my favorite class

Since I have been in school I have been in many classes. Although it has been pretty hard to say which class was my favorite class I would have to say that Health and P.E. would be my favorite class. Sorry Mrs. B. but the reason I like Health and P.E. is because it was easy for the games and the homework, every third day we got the play a fun game like dodge ball. And the whole class was just easy. Although speech class is fun, we get to play dodge ball in P.E.

what I want to do when I grow up

There are a couple of things that I would like to become when I grow up. Well for starters I would like to pass high school and college so that I can get a decent job, or even a job that I want to do. Another one of my hopeful jobs is the teach P.E. at a high school, and also teach robotics if that school will have it. I also want to become an x-ray technician because I think that it would be fun and also because I don't need as much school as other medical fields. I would not mind doing ultrasound because that is what my dad does and I think that it might be nice to work at the same place as him or work on the same job as him.

My thoughts on Obma's speech

I thought that his speech was a little boring, but at least he is trying to make America a better place to live. And at least his going to try and perfect it. He wore a red tie, a white shirt, otherwise than that he wore a black suit. I thought at the start of his swearing in ceremony was funny when he started to talk before the guy got done talking and in the middle of it when he started laughing. In his speech he started talking about getting right back up and brushing ourselves off and keep going.

my favorite place I have been to

I would probably have to say that my favorite place would be 4th of the July weekend at Ft. Randal. When we go we sometimes pick up our cousins and we go about two hours from Pierce to Ft. Randal to go boating. We stay and boat most of the day, or until it starts to get dark. Then we go out to eat sometimes at the casino and sometimes at a restaurant in Ft. Randal. after that we go the a place that we call the Cabin Shack. In this place we can rent rooms for the night. There is an upstairs and the main area, a kitchen, a couple of bathrooms, and a t.v., but my favorite part about it is all of the stuffed animals that the owner caught and put in there. my least favorite part of the cabin is that there is a fireplace outside the kitchen and every time I walk by it I stub my toes, not only that but the floor is slanted. we also roast marshmallows and make hot dogs. When we wake up in the morning we have bacon and eggs for breakfast and then we go boating for the rest of the day.

My favorite band is Tobey Kieth. I like him because I like some of his music like courtesy of the red white and blue, whiskey for my man, and honky tonk u. My second favorite is Trace Adtkins. My third is for Montgomery Gentery. My fourth favorite is Sugarland. My fifth is Little Big Town. I can't name the rest because I can't remember the other bands, I can name the songs, but not the bands.

my 5th day is i-chat text my choice for talk is adam sandler. we have to have it done by tues. it is very hard cause i do not use movie that much. TTYL

goals

This is the fourth day of the 30 day challenge, and we are supposed to write some of our goals. For school I have many goals. One of my year goal is to pass all of my classes with a C or higher. Another goal is to not be in encore for Algebra and World History 2. For my goal for home it is to be nicer to my sisters, and not forget to tell my mom if their is any changes in our schedule when I go out with my friends. That is all of my goals that I can think of at the moment.

Infomrcials

This is the third day of the 30 day challenge. We are writing about an infomercial.
An infomercial that I saw a couple of days ago was the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer. For this juicer you can put in a whole apple and it will shred the apple and put the seeds and core somewhere else and the skin and apple squish into juice.

This is the second day of the 30 day challenge. Over the weekend was fun to me. On Friday when I got home I watched some t.v. Then I got my homework done and played my nitendo ds for a little bit. After that I went to bed. Saturday evening my friends came over and they helped me set up our wi-fi, then we played video games until midnight. After that one of them left while the other got stuck in our driveway. For a couple of minutes I was helping him get out until my sister and mom came home. When we got him out we went to bed. On Sunday morning my family and I went to church, when I got home I studied a little and then watched some t.v.

my first blog

Hello my name is Matt Atkins. My nickname is matkins. I am writing this because I have to and because I can. I am doing this for 30 days, and after that I plan on never going on this unless I have to. I was born in 1992. I am in high school. I am also doing the 30 day challenge for speech. What we have to do for that is write about things that no one will care about. Some of us will be happy when it ends, while some of the others will probably keep going on this site during school.
